what is an i-Image? The goal
of the i-Image is to provoke several reactions. The i-Image brings
immediate attention to a topic or idea. However, this attention
is not superficial or fleeting as we might associate with some
advertising. Instead, the i-Image introduces a "highly infectious" idea
that seizes the audience and compels them to think deeper. Ultimately,
the audience is at the beginning of a greater appreciation the
idea and the world around them. In the theater, they will turn
to the people with them to say "Did you see that? That was
pretty cool!" When they leave the theater, the Image and its
idea will still be with them.
schools
& businesses are welcome. The i-Image campaign
is directed toward schools and businesses. Both are always seeking
better ways to help their "clients"
develop a greater appreciation of their "products." For
schools, the products are ideas, ways of thinking, and behaviors.
For businesses, the products are merchandise and services. Our
goal is to develop i-Images that compel audiences to see the value
and meaning of what schools or businesses have to offer.
Who creates i-Images? The
initial i-Images were created by a small number of designers in
the ideasarecool Design Studio. As the project grows, a stable
of graphic designers and advertising experts will
be working on i-Images?
Also, teachers and students are invited to create
i-Images. We already have a number of excellent i-Images created
by teachers in our College of Education Masters degree programs.
We invite all teachers, parents, and students to submit their i-Images.
We will review them and make them available at ideasarecool.com!

iImages @ Preflixs. i-Images
will appear in a wide variety of public spaces. One of our primary
targets is the multiplex theater and the
advertising
"preflixs" seen before the start of the movies.
- The typical i-Image preflix is seen bypeople
- Each i-Image is the size of a movie screen
- i-Images preflixs are seen by groups of people
who can talk to each other about the ad
- i-Image preflixs are shown in every showing of
every movie in a multiplex theater. The NCG theater in Eastwood
Mall has 18 screens.
- The cost of one preflix buys a six-week run at
a theater
- There is no cost to the business for creating
an i-Image advertisement
what happens at "ideasarecool.com"? The
i-Image is a beginning, a provocative suggestion. From there, the
task is to help this experience continue and develop. Ideally,
the person will want to learn more or to use the idea. Every i-Image
will display two things in the lower right corner: the business'
name and "ideasarecool.com". When someone visits ideasarecool.com,
they will find...
- more information about the idea in the Image,
links to select, high quality web resources
- other i-Images from the same business or idea
- resources for teachers and students related to
the ideas
- opportunities to create and submit their own i-Images
- links to the business' website
Like a lively piazza in an Italian city, ideasarecool.com
brings together a diverse crowd of K-12 and university students and
educators, the general public, and the business community. This is
exactly the kind of place that businesses want to make their presence
felt.
How might the ideasarecool campaign be good for schools & businesses?
- A large number of people will see i-Images
- A theater audience is more focused on the Preflixs
in a theater than ads in newpapers, radio, or television.
- People are in a good mood in theaters and, therefore,
feel good when they see your ad
- The experience of the i-Image is enhanced because
people can immediately to talk to each other about it
- i-Images deepen the audience's appreciation for
the product or service. In other words, the value of the product
increases
- Businesses are clearly seen as supporting education
- Education is promoted outside the classroom

IMPORTANT: these are draft i-Images. They are not
in circulation, nor have they been approved by the business - in
this case Becky Beauchine Kulka. They are for demonstration purposes
only.
